Home for Dinner

A Teamwork Survivor Kit Build for Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Groups

Your team comes to the table. Survivors come home.

A CSR Experience Your Team Will Never Forget

Most corporate volunteer days end when the event does. Home for Dinner gives your team knowledge they carry forward, and a meaningful way to act on it the same day.

Kimberly Mull leads your group through a powerful, research-based training on trauma and survival: what happens in the brain during crisis, why grounding works, and how to show up for someone in a way that truly helps. Then your team gets hands-on, building care kits designed around the five senses and basic dignity. Every kit is delivered to an organization serving survivors of trafficking and violence.

It’s team building, workforce education, and community impact in one 90-minute session.

Home for Dinner shares its name with Kimberly’s upcoming book, Taken, But Home for Dinner.

The Menu

APpetizer: The Training

An engaging, non-graphic session on how trauma affects the brain and body, and what real support looks like at work, at home, and in the community.

Main Course: The Kit Build

Your team rotates through hands-on stations, assembling each part of the kit and writing personal notes of encouragement.

Dessert: The Table

Finished kits are set along a banquet table as your team comes together to reflect on what they built and who it’s for.

What’s Inside Every Kit

Each kit your team creates includes practical tools for law enforcement and social services to gift survivors of trafficking or trauma. Focused on the five senses, each kit helps ground victims in the present moment and support their healing through trauma-informed sensory stimulation.

Scent

In groups, your team works together to create, mix, and package calming aromatherapy rollers in calming and familiar scents. Scent is one of the fastest ways the brain recognizes safety.

touch

At this station, your group works to create and mix grounding therapy putty in a variety of styles. Working something with your hands brings you back into your body when everything feels out of control. This gift is a favorite among survivors in crisis.

taste

Here, your team works to create and combine a mix of sweet, sour, and savory treats. Taste pulls attention into the present moment, allowing survivors a quicker way to ground themselves in the present.

sound

A small finger piano is added to the kit, along with a card to a custom playlist created by your team of their favorite songs to inspire and support survivors in their time of need. At larger events, multiple playlists may be created as each team member is encouraged to contribute a song.

sight

A handwritten note from your team and a shatterproof pocket mirror decorated with custom decals by your team to ensure each survivor knows they are worthy of getting help.
